EXPERTISE TO:

Provide assistance for federally assisted or funded projects as required under the provisions of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Policies Acquisitions Act of 1970, as amended. CFR, Part 24.

Provide advisory services to business owners, their attorneys or authorized representatives with the intent of encouraging re-establishment of the business and investigating alternatives to minimize business disruption caused by relocation.

Assist with preparing a Project Plan Notices of Relocation Eligibility, 90-day and 30-day Notices as required.

Provide assistance for non-federally assisted projects consistent with the requirements of the Relocation Plan and Policy adopted by the acquiring local public agency.

An experienced relocation agent is assigned to work with each business until the relocation process is successfully completed.

Conduct an in person interview at the displacement location with each business owner to explain eligibility for relocation benefits and to determine needs and preferences. Once individual business owners are interviewed and preliminary considerations are made about their likely relocation needs, these considerations are refined as the agency's acquisition of the property and the relocation process goes forward.

Services include inspecting, photgraphing and verifying personal property inventories, preparing scopes of work, reviewing and/or obtaining bids or estimates providing referrals to alternate properties that may be suitable for conducting business, and assisting with preparing relocation claims for submission to the agency for payment and monitoring moves in progress.

Monthly status reports provided; attend meetings with the agency and business owners or their representatives as required.

Maintain records, files and contact logs.
